I shipped a package last week, a sale that originated here in the “fire.”

Today I received a text message saying my package could not be delivered, asked me to confirm the shipping info, which they had.

Then I was charged a $.30 fee to redeliver the package. Once I had entered my CC info they asked for my “shipping” into. So that finally clued me in, something wasn’t right.

I went to the Post office and they confirmed it was a scam. Had to cancel my CC.

Everything looked legit, I wouldn’t have had a clue had they not asked for my address in addition to my CC info.

Seeing tons of this kind of thing these days, so y’all heads up!!

I’ve received those when I’ve never shipped something. Knew right away they were a scam. Thanks for the heads up

I have to agree with @OP, the scammers are getting sharper and sharper at their trade. However, anything that I am not expecting, generally gets the "Delete" button...

So I wonder if this was just a coincidence that you received this after sending a package or if someone at the post office or here on the fire knew you sent a package and then tried to scam you. If not a coincidence then an inside job somewhere.

I would have wondered how they got my number to text, then deleted it.

I got an email about 2 weeks ago that looked identical to the USPS site. Said my package was undeliverable due to incorrect address and that there was a $1.30 fee to relabel the package. I had indeed sent a package. I knew they wouldn’t have my email, so that was the first clue.

I checked the tracking number which I always save and it showed my package had been delivered. I called the company and verified they had received it. If you clicked on any of the sections of the fake USPS site, nothing happened. Only the section for your credit card info worked. I could see how they get people, especially older folks, the fake page looked exactly like the USPS site.

I’m getting real sick of these scammers. They all need to be held down and beaten “full metal jacket” style…..seems like a daily occurrence now getting these notifications. Thanks for the heads up🤬

If people just stop and think before making rash decisions most frauds would not happen. Slow down and review what you’re reading or being told. Look at everything as a scam which will help you question the legitimacy of the email, mail, phone call etc. Google and your local police are your friend.

I got one worded differently, also from USPS but it's a similar scam. When I deleted it another popped in so I sent it to spam.

The problem here is that most of these scammers now are in west Africa, Cameroon or Nigeria. They sit around all day just sending out scam after scam. The facebook ammo sellers, the WTB guys that have everything you need, the ww.worldsgreatestammoshop.com that have all calibers in stock by the case, and the ID scammers here, they're just sitting in a dump somewhere hoping someone will send them $100. You can report them, etc., but tomorrow they will just be on a new scam with a new great deal.

As always, buyer beware.
