What's with the black interiors - is there something functional about them, or are they just another woke ploy like all of the black uniforms?
Not a real member - just an ordinary guy who appreciates being able to hang around and say something once in awhile.

Even though they’re removable for washing the black hides the dirt, sweat and blood stains better. Kids, including high school athletes, are not prone to washing their gear and many don’t know how to. We always bought our son his helmet and sent it in yearly for certification or repainting. His helmet was logged in to the equipment coach and was included with all the other helmets that were sent in yearly. Buying his helmet allowed us to not only take advantage of the newer anti-concussion technology but more importantly it gave us the ability to customize it with various components and padding for the best fit. The color of the vinyl removable pads on his helmet were white with black covers. I don’t think it’s a racial commentary or conspiracy, I think it’s merely practical.

sweat and grime build up on the white pads an look nasty, the black interior makes it look less grimy,,
