So, I finally got around to shooting some test loads yesterday that I had cooked up for the 300 and 303 with some a pound of A2495 I bought to play with a while back. I have other powders that shoot well for both cartridges, but I'm just a load fiddler by nature, and I was hoping to squeeze a bit more velocity out of the 303. The 300 didn't shoot it particularly well, but it turns out the old 303 is fairly fond of the stuff. That rifle doesn't seem particularly picky when it comes to powders in general, but it does have very narrow charge windows for accuracy. I just figured I'd throw it out there for anyone thinking of exploring any of the Accurate powders to feed the old Savages. 😁 My 250 and the 303 both like A4064 as well, but the velocity on the 303 loads with it is bordering slingshot territory.

Afternoon Zack,
Nice groups for tang sights. Anything around 1 3/8 and tighter is SUPER. Please re-publish your loads with the A2495 as I can't read the data on the images when the pic is enlarged.
Personally, I never tried the Accurate powders. H4895 was my "go-to" powder for years in 250 and 300 loads and the IMR 4895 being used mostly for 250 varmint loadings. Lately I have been experimenting with Vihn. N140, a powder also designed for the NATO 7.62x51 by the Fins. It's great for accuracy but at slightly slower speeds than most powders.
I just looked for any old 303 loadings but seem to have misplaced whatever there was.
Again, good shooting.

I've fiddled with N130 in the Savages. It shoots pretty well in the 300 with 125gr Speer TNTs, but I still need to tweak it a bit more to see if it will do better. It shot fair, but not as well as other powders for me in the 303.
The 110gr Sierra Varminter had 33.5gr under it. I'll probably tweak that one a bit up and down just to see if it gets better. A couple tenths of a grain makes a considerable difference in that rifle. It's a good shooter, but very charge finicky.
The other group was 27.5gr with a 140 Monoflex, and that low shot of the 4 was me, not the rifle. I won't be using that load, though, it's too slow, and the warmer groups opened up a lot.

The 140 Monoflex?
You'll laugh but I used 38.5 grains of H4895 to get .625 groups from a Savage M14 shooting the Hornady 140 Monoflex bullet OAL 2.550". Not in the books but I was careful looking for signs of pressure when loading it up. This is the most accurate loading I found thus far for my American Classic M14 in a 300 Sav.
Cheers!

Yeah, I do a lot of load interpolating for that 303, since I mostly shoot light spire points from it.
It shoots the Monoflexes well with IMR3031 and 4320 at much better velocites than I got with the 2495.
I'm really hoping I can dial that 110 Varminter load dialed in, because the velocity there is considerably better than the A4064 load I use as my plinker.
