Had a buddy call the other day said he came across some .45acp casings with an F A 42 head stamp. They are primed but not loaded. Was wondering if they are worth anything or if he should just load them and carry on. I said I wasnt sure but knew a place to ask around a bit so here I am. Any thoughts?
If they are the original primers, they are corrosive primers. If he only has five of them I wouldn't fool with loading them unless he knows how to properly clean after firing corrosive ammo.
Increasing my post count so people will buy stuff from me
He said he verified they are corrosive primers, but could see any sign of them ever being loaded. Only showed five in the picture but said he has quite a few.
Can’t tell by the picture but in the war years some of the ammo had steel cases. Put a magnet to them to tell. If steel I wouldn’t bother loading them. They may be better saved for collectors. I have some loaded ammo stamped RA 19. And that’s not 2019.
