I normally use USPS but the rates are spiraling. Is this new or have I been blissfully ignorant….
UPS accepts packages containing Firearm Products for shipment only as a contractual service and only from Shippers who are licensed importers, licensed manufacturers, licensed dealers, or licensed collectors (as defined in Title 18, Chapter 44 of the United States Code) to authorized recipients, as outlined in the approved UPS agreement for the transportation of Firearm Products.

Ignore this as I see it is new and another woke movement. UPS can officially buzz off

That’s a good question but they would know what’s in a damaged package Hank

Ship My Gun seems reasonable for sure. $30-40. You have to drop off at UPS Customer Centers, which for me is 30 minutes.

USPS surcharge and "holiday" rates are due to expire 01/22/23 Things should drop to a more normal level. I'll continue to use USPS for long arms and parts and UPS for stocks.

I sent a shot gun to Sumtoy customs last week via UPS. They are also using UPS to return it.

I have had them loose one item and another destroyed. Both claims were paid (eventually) and it seems the most common reason for not paying is that you need to submit a written request asking to be paid. It seems stupid but that is what was missing both times on mine. You would think opening a claim would meet that criteria but it doesn't. They will send you an email (and letter) stating "One of the required documents is missing" but they don't tell you WHAT is missing. Both times it was a formal, written request for reimbursement.

Will ups still ship ammo? I tried to ship a gun and was told I need a “restricted act” of some kind. Ended up shipping through my FFL

You can still ship ammo via UPS without any kind of license. UPS has info on its site.
