For those who have it... You like it? Fast enough for you? Downsides? Worth the money? I know... I'm full of questions. Thanks in advance.

Love it. Fast enough for my needs (desktop, several phones, and streaming tv)
Totally worth the dough. Night and day compared to other satellite providers

From what i have read.
Country ranchers and farmers are able to obtain the system in under a month. City folks may take a year or longer to receive the system.
Musk business is working to put good internet capabilities to individuals that do not have access to reliable internet service.
So the farmers and ranchers think it is great and worth the money.
Going from no service to reliable service is a plus up.
During lockdowns and now i can tell when school kids are on the internet as our high speed internet will some times come to a crawl. Neighbors changed from satellite to cable for the same reason.
Every afternoon when the school students are home, starting at 3 PM until 7 PM our service is slow and our area has upgraded infrastructure as the area is newer that 20 years.

Can you take it with you when you travel? Yes. They have a mobility plan. You can use it at home, or RV, or vacation home... https://www.starlink.com/rv

Totally worth the dough. Night and day compared to other satellite providers That's what I was wanting to know. I'm using cellular internet now. Both my phones have a built in hotspot, and I have a cellular modem. Now my speeds are avg. 31 upload and 8 download. I hope that improves with Starlink. Now I can't really stream a YouTube video in HD, and streaming a TV show or movie is out of the question.

A couple guys at work have it. They are very impressed and think it was well worth it compared to the options they had where they live.

I've had it for over a year now.....and love it. I've seen speeds up to 300 down, but proabably averages about 150-175. No issues streaming, or with work (MS Teams etc.).
The hardest part was figuring out where to put it due to the trees around my house.
Cheers,
R

Residential here is $110 a month. The one you can move around is $135. I'm paying $140 a month for that crappy cellular modem.

R I have Dish TV mounted on my house roof. I assume if I'm open enough for that, I'll be okay with Starlink..

Download the Starlink app and you'll find out pretty quick if you'll have obstruciton issues.

I've had the residential version for over a year & am very happy with it as well. As mentioned above, the app will help you find a good spot. Once you plug the dish in it will automatically orient itself to get the best reception.

I'm using it. I do have some obstructions. I'm still getting speeds more than 10 times my only other option. It's great if you don't have any other good options. I kept checking the site and when it became available at my location, I bought it and had it delivered and running with no waiting on a list.

I know some folks already have it here, so I imagine it's a matter of placing more satellites to handle the data. As those come online, they add customers from the waiting list.

We installed ours in September. We have Dish for TV and started with Hughsnet for satellite internet, then went to ViaSat. We very much like the Starlink - much faster. As RVB said, we downloaded the app to our cellphone and then I tried different locations on our roof for best access. It is an interesting app. It took us about a month to get the equipment. We had to order a longer cable (150') as the best location for the "dish" was beyond the 75' standard cable as the dish wants to have a wider view of the sky.
It is interesting to see it power up and then search the sky for the best satellite. About a month ago it actually moved it's orientation as it locked onto a different satellite.

You guys who have Starlink...
I suppose that thunderstorms and thick cloud cover can and will interrupt your service, much like satellite TV?
