A 9mm 115 gr. bullet at 1100 fps doesn't really rate a Plus P designation.
Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.

If you're serious about using a 9mm, maybe you'd be better off with the Hornady American Gunner load with the 124+P at 1175fps. That's faster than the load you mentioned, with a heavier bullet. The SKU # is 90224. It's a pretty stout (for 9mm) load, and shoots reasonably well in all my 9mms. It's my "carry load" in a 9mm. I'd think it would be a lot better than a 115 at 1100.
You can roll a turd in peanuts, dip it in chocolate, and it still ain't no damn Baby Ruth.

A 9mm 115 gr. bullet at 1100 fps doesn't really rate a Plus P designation. Not when use can use a 148 grain hard cast flat nose that will seriously penetrate.. I think JWP can testify to its effectiveness on porkers. I carry it as an all around load, versus just strictly handgun hunting. Makes life a little less complicated. Edit to add: OP, the others already know, but since you are new, you likely may not. In the interest of full disclosure. This is a load that I produce and sell. I own a small custom ammo outfit. I killed a pig in my field with the P-365XL dropped him immediately and exited Accurate load for sure
I got banned on another web site for a debate that happened on this site. That's a first

The Hornady handgun hunter load is a mono bullet, which is probably why itās speed is low for its weight in a +p loading. I would suspect that it would be a good load on whitetail sized animals and smaller. Iām guessing it would also be a good self defense loading. It certainly wonāt penetrate as well as the cast loads above.

I would think that more velocity would help a mono bullets expansion capabilities.

The point about a mono being slow isnāt about performance, itās about case capacity. You canāt drive a mono as fast as the same weight traditional HP or FMJ. They are long for their weight and take up more case capacity than a standard bullet. So it is perfectly plausible that the Hornady load is: 1. Operating at +p pressures and 2. Is still āslowā compared to equivalent weight jacketed lead bullets
It will be interesting to hear any reports from the load. On paper it seems kind of ordinary, but I would assume that it would work as intended in the appropriate sized game.
