Not looking for sympathy
But Monday had to put my Lab down somewhat unexpectedly
He was no hunter but a great family pet
Thank God I didn’t buy him as a hunting dog it would have been the biggest rip off in the world
Loved everyone especially Peggy
Loved the boat and water
Just strange all the habits and things that have happen for the last 11 years
Hearing him bark and waiting by the door
Him following Peggy everywhere
Taking up a huge floor space while he slept the day away
It’s very strange

Sorry for your loss! Our lab has been gone almost a year and I still expect him to be waiting for me to come home. Every time the doorbell rang he would go crazy...miss that too!

I swear I had Trooper's litter mate.... absolutely the best house dog a guy could ask for but just a dud for a hunting dog.... Just as you described....
I lost my boy Angus a year ago and I still miss him every day... he was such a big goof.
