This Playfair pistol is my oldest firearm. I believe it was made around the middle 1800's. I think it might be a converted flintlock. It is about 54 cal, smooth bore and in good working condition. Very cool. I'd love to own that. I'd shoot it, too.

My heirloom L.C. Smith S/N shows it's manufacture date as 1904. Next would probably be my 1932 Rem "Sportsman" 16 gauge

My oldest is an 1874 Peabody - Martini in 45-70. Shoots like a tack driver (an awfully big tack that is)

I have a couple of old bolt action rifles, 1 Springfield A3-03 and an old Chilean Mauser but the oldest gun I cherish is a Winchester model 42, probably early 1950's mfg.. The shotgun belonged to my grandfather and was passed to my father. My father passed it to me on his death. I plan to pass it on to my son and I hope he will pass it on to his son one day. That will make my grandson the 5th generation to own this gun. Special stuff!

I have a 32 caliber muzzle loader that belonged to a long lost relative. It was passed to my grand father who passed in 1962. We got it from grandma in 1974. I also have a Remington 32 rimfire revolver that belonged to my grand father and got it from grandma when she passed in 1974.
A 1893 Mexican Mauser an 1895 Chilean Mauser. A couple of other Mausers I don't recall the dates on. My favorite is a 1919 Springfield sporterized 1903.

My GGpa's 1927 Winchester M94 .30-30.
Also have a couple shotguns that were his and probably older, but not sure of the mfg. date.

nimblehunter; Good evening to you sir, I hope the day was kind to you and this finds you well. Thanks for the thread and as always thanks to those who've responded, it's been a great read and viewing. While I'm not exactly sure of the age on this Iver Johnson, I'm guessing it's at least 100 years old, possibly more. It belonged to a friend who passed away and our idiotic Canuck gun laws prevented his family from inheriting it. Best to you all. Dwayne

A dear friend gifted me a Winchester 1906 made in 1919. His dad bought it when he turned 18 and Frank passed it to me when he couldn't see the sights anymore.

I've thought about it a lot of times, but everything is working now and if I have to take it apart to clean it, it just adds risk that something might break or get buggered up.

I had an AR made in 2020. Tragically it was lost in a recent boating accident.

I've thought about it a lot of times, but everything is working now and if I have to take it apart to clean it, it just adds risk that something might break or get buggered up. Looks to me like you just knock that one wedge piece out, and the barrel/action would lift right out of the wood stock for cleaning.
