My maternal grand father passed in 2021 at 100.5 yrs old. I was attended his 100fh.

I was raised by my Maternal Grandparents. My grandfather was born in 1896 Mississippi. One of 13 guess he'd be 126 if alive today. He lived to 82. Lived through WW1 on the front lines, and as a railroad brakeman for most of his 45+ years with various railroads, finishing up in the Taylor yards in Los Angeles working for PFE / Southern Pacific.

That would be my English grandparent. He lucked out, too young for WWI too old for WWII, served as a fireman during the Blitz.
