Since posting this last night I spoke to a guy over at Luger’s Forum that wrote the reference book on Sauer 38H pistols. Mine was actually made in late August 1942.
Will Munny: It's a hell of a thing, killing a man. Take away all he's got and all he's ever gonna have.
The Schofield Kid: Yeah, well, I guess they had it coming.
Will Munny: We all got it coming, kid.

Oldest would be a pre-serialized 1898 side hammer Marlin 12 gauge still in great shooting condition. Other than that, a prewar Mauser in 350 Norma Mag, a few 1903's and a Win model 54 in 30-06.

Valentin Cristoph Moritz Schilling of Suhl. Built around 1810-12. Converted to percussion probably in the 1830’s which was popular for the time period. My oldest gun. I will kill an elk with this rifle. Approx. 58-59 calibre

I've posted this picture before, but it's my oldest and favorite. 1906 Marlin '94 25-20. Passed to me from my Grandfather. When I got it the bore was a sewer pipe. Sent it out for a barrel liner. Found out later the smith didn't have the proper liner so he turned down a 25-06 barrel and used it. Added a Williams receiver sight. All I've use in it for the last 30 years has been home cast bullets. Started with the Lyman 257420GC with enough 4198 to reach 2000 fps. Shifted to a group buy mold from another site that was a 80 grain round flat nose GC. Very accurate, but finally decided to take it easier on the old thing. Bought a NOE 260283 mold, plain based, 88 grain. The mold number changed a few years ago, but it's a copy of the old Lyman 257283. I normally run about 9.3 grain 4198 for around 1450 fps or so depending on whether H or IMR 4198. This one gets used all the time for back yard gong fun as well as small game hunting.

A 1927 LC Smith 20 ga. I had it re-blued, re-colorcase-hardened, tightened the action back up and lengthened the cones, re-cut the checkering and refinished the stock. She’s a doll, and I shot it better than any shotgun, but I had to switch to port-side shooting and the cast is on the wrong side, now. Another project.

1900 Norwegian Krag 6.5x55.......sporterized..... Nice, how does it shoot? The one I have does not, thinking the throat is gone, was considering have the barrel shortened by a turn and chamber recut. Also think they were chambered for 160G roundnose?

If you are not actively engaging EVERY enemy you encounter... you are allowing another to fight for you... and that is cowardice... plain and simple.

Thought I had posted on this thread, but can't find it. Soooooo.... Approximate date of manufacture 1870 by a fellow named David Hall Hilliard. .50 caliber underhammer target rifle made in the spirit of sniper rifles used by the Union during the unCivil War. I can't prove it, but I think Mr. H made rifles for the Union during the war. He passed O/A 1877. The similarity is fairly obvious. It is good enough that it took 2d place in a match out in Cody, WY in 2011. Full value crosswind 15G25, L-R
I am..........disturbed.
