Not a Model 700 expert; can someone help me I.D. what version/age this model 700 in .270 is? It's Rem 700 BDL, their top of the line over the counter rig at the time - probably mid-late 80's.
Get rid of those hideous see thru mounts and get the scope down where it belongs and you'll have a really great all around rifle. The .270 is perfect.

Seen one recently for $1000 at cabelas on the used rack. But they wanted crazy money for every thing. I got a remington 700 sps with a synthetic stock in 300 ultra magnum this last summer for $550.
