The issue is a long list of inane page-one titles, typically beginning with "Have You Ever," or something like it. The effect is to quickly submerge legitimate topics on page two or three, which then get few responses because not seen (Most members just look through page one for topics that might interest them). The other rooms on the site are a plethora of information, and the Campfire room has always been the same, chippy at best, with about ten people who turn it nasty as hell. The only thing that changes are the ten people, they come and go. But there will always be the ten people, so you learn to ignore them, or I suppose you leave.
