I'm not a cowboy

so I call them Western boots.

And, I don't wear them as often as I wear a hat, nor do I have as many pairs.

But, I have a few. None with really pointy toes though. My big ol' barefoot or sandal wearin' peasant feets don't fit in pointy toes. Maybe if I got me a pair of those ones like the narco fellas down in Mexico wear?

Can't wear them, severe neuropathy, tight fittings and hard soles cause unbearable pain.

Nope.. because I am not a Cowboy.. I'm not going to try and imitate something I respect, and am not.

Cowboy hats and boots have a place in the west.... ya see it on folks in places like Tennessee or Georgia, I've always chuckled..

Why do ya want to look like something you're not?

no different than buying fatigues at the Army surplus store and dressing up like you are in the military, when you've never raised your hand and took the oath...

I have several pair, wear at least one of them almost daily.

Funny though, when I ride and it's a LOT, it's with lacers.

I only wear cowboy boots when on a green or unknown horse.

I got a pair of Tony Lama Ropers when we moved to San Antonio in 1991. Had to have 'em if you were going dancing.

Just dug 'em out of the back of the closet, gonna give 'em away, haven't worn those in years.

Your gold teeth , commando style chaps, and purple mullet gives away your occupation.

I need a new pair, had three set of soles on the pair I like. Dancing wears soles out quickly. You are sliding them every step.

I don't dance.

Last time I danced - 6 years later I ended up divorced. Not taking that chance again.

Justin or Naconas. Years ago Fryes, but I think they went out of business. I have a pair of Justin ropers that must be 30 years old and have been resoled & reheeled at least four times. A pair of Naconas with riding heels and a pair of Naconas with walking heels. More of a dress boot.

I have been thinking about a pair of Tecovas, but I probably won't wear out the ones I have.

I consider myself more of a horseman than a cowboy. Actually a mule man. There are a lot of competitions now days like cow penning, etc.I don't do. If don' t look at a cow as companion animal to play with.

There are still cowboys that actually work cattle on ranches, rodeo cowboys, and drug store cowboys. They all wear boots.

I have half dozen or so pairs. I’ve had at least one pair nearly all my life. Bought some cool Anaconda Tony Lama’s with a good chunk of the $ I received for my high school graduation - then my feet grew another size over the next 1.5 years. My dad ended up with a nice pair of boots! He still has them 35 yrs later.
