Mine were delivered today. Yes, they can be turned off manually by holding either the up or down button for 3 seconds.
Also, the base that's included has a smaller diameter cross-bolt allowing it to be mounted on Weaver style bases. It also has 10 brightness settings.
I haven't mounted them yet but they look like a pretty nice red dot, especially for $100.

Excellent news! I should be getting mine any day now. Thanks again for the hot tip!

Mine came today, too. Battery was packaged separately, different than what some folks have complained about (already installed, and dead). Very nice RDS, just gotta decide what to put it on now.

P.S. One word of advice... Do NOT install the included scope cover if you haven't already mounted the light to your gun! The instructions say absolutely nothing about the proper use of the cover, but it is practically impossible to remove from the RDS if not attached to your gun.
Of course I'm NOT speaking from personal experience.... mad

That must be true for all of them. I did the same thing when I got my Burris FF3. I called Burris to see if there was a trick to removing it but I was told I would just have to jam something up in there to pry it loose. Needless to say, my FF3 has a few "battle scars" before it was ever mounted.

Lots of sweating--both literal and emotional. I finally flipped it upside down and used the rubber-cushioned handle of some channel locks to push the sight (using a LOT of effort) out of the cover. I'll probably never install that cover again, whether or not the sight is mounted on a gun.

My first from Midway arrived Monday. I just ordered two more from Doug. I was doing some research but cannot figure out exactly what is needed to mount these on a Glock. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I don't know what Glock you own, but this Sightron uses the C-More base pattern. Here's one place to get adapters:

And for some more reading material and a chart:

Mine appears new. Can you elaborate as to what "open box" means to you?

Not taped up on ends, in any plastic, unlike about every other red dot or scope I've bought.
