It’s that time of the year - dry firing season. For the past couple of winters I’ve been dry firing at pheasants and bunnies as they come up to where I put out some feed.
Lately I’ve been dry firing in my gun room at different targets and at different light levels. It sure separates the quality sight pictures that I get.
A couple years ago I was muzzle loader hunting and didn’t see deer until the last few moments of legal shooting time. I could not get a good sight picture with the iron sights, it was black on black. South Dakota doesn’t allow scopes with any magnification on muzzle loaders. So, I mounted a red dot. Next time…
I prefer classic. Semper Fi I used to run with the hare. Now I'm envious of the tortoise and I do my own stunts but rarely intentionally

Dry firing is a constant preoccupation here. With every handgun, rifle and shotgun I own. Every day... I do some exercises with something.

I enjoy it too - fun to snap at different targets and from unusual positions.

I usually dry fire the day before I go to the range with the guns I'm going to shoot. Most of my dry firing is done with double action revolvers.
