After 48 years of full time, 40+ hours a week work, today was my last day.
The company threw me a lunch at a fancy restaurant.
Management and long time employees got up and said nice things about me, and I said nice things about them.
Lots of people (who never said boo to me) talked about how I'll be missed.
It was nice, but I'm glad to be free of the responsibilities.

It was nice, but I'm glad to be free of the responsibilities. Congrats. I can hardly wait to be in the same situation but while going off on a tirade and saying everything I ever thought about their woke beliefs but couldn’t while employed.

I returned to work Jan 16 after a 4.5 month hiatus with intent to retire in mid-February. The first day, barely two hours in, the vexation of it all set right in. I cannot get outta there fast enough. 45+ years on the same job is plenty long enough. Hat’s off to those who have gone before me.
By the way, in case you missed it, Jeremiah was a bullfrog.
