I have two stands on the place I hunt. I can’t see a hell of a lot. Juniper is thick in some places in the hill country. This is stand one, can see three ways. I cleared this little area out

It’s 225 to big green feeder

Cut this lane out, see a lot of deer on it

Green feeder back to stand, cut out juniper in front stand so I could see open area by green feeder.

Yes, watched him a good while, was waiting on a bigger one I had seen, but couldn’t get a shot at.

Nice to see something besides plantation pines.

I hunted on paper company land for 15 years, more open in the creek bottoms than this hill country lease. I do see more game in the hill country.

Dead pig at bottom, sometimes they come back after you shoot one.

I mostly hunt #2 stand because Aoudads show up once in a blue moon. Sometimes a good one

Hardwoods are getting harder to find around here.

Mostly what’s left is SMZ or just too wet to cut.

We pay too much for this lease, 2000.00 per gun, plus 200 for electricity, but it gives me a place to get away. All great guys on this lease, bout 1/2 old like me, 1/2 around 35 to 40 years old. I can bring my son and grandkids. The spring fed creek keeps up in water all year. My son in law is 10 miles as the crow flies from me, pays 1200.00, but no water, no electricity.

I'm on a timber company lease. It's certainly not world class Deer hunting, but there are a few good ones, pigs and turkeys too.

Its mostly planted pines. Sometimes the deer and pigs move through the thick areas along the edge of the planted pines. Have feeders in the pines and thicker cover.
