Got a VX5 2-10 on my model 7. I like the glass. A NF 2-10 would be veddy nice, too.

Ya! I am very happy with it. It is a shooter. Clover-leafs @ 100 yds with the 150 gr. Ballistic tips.

It has a few character marks these days (use not abuse).

Picked up it's cousin in 308 Win. a while ago. Have not made time to do with it.

Best,

GWB

The above and also the SHV 3-10x42. Consider the reticles and choose based on which reticle will best fit how you'll use it. Both have been perfectly reliable for me. If you're dialing a lot, the NXS is the better choice....if dialing occasionally, a sand to fit zero stop can be added to the SHV and works well.

Both those scopes also fit M7's very well with their short tube and OAL.

I hadn’t considered that one. I do like that it is compact. The primary purpose of this gun will be whitetail hunting from a stand, but 22 ounces seems to be on the heavy side. This is my first semi custom gun build. Just trying to think through every ounce. The 20 ounce range may be where I need to be?

Nothing is fhuqking heavier, than a scope that doesn't work. Read that again. Now one more time. Hint.

You are pissing up a LOT of ropes and missing by a fhuqking mile,by schlepping a Goat Fhuqk. Hint..............

That’s what reliable scopes weigh. At a minimum. If you want reliability, you’re gonna have to accept this simple fact.

Any thoughts and suggestions on other scopes would be appreciated.

Budget up to $1500.

Rifle will be primarily for hunting whitetail.

Look at the maven rs2. 2-10x40. 12 ounces. I have 2 and they're great
