Looking for advice on a Vacuum Sealer for jerky, beer dogs, fish etc etc.. Looking for a quality sealer that doesn't break the band.

Thoughts

Thanks

Go with a chamber sealer if you can work it into your budget. Oiled pump preferred over dry pump.

I have a Vacmaster 215. LEM and MEAT! (meatyourmaker) are other popular brands.

Do not buy a Weston they work fine when they work but if you have a problem there is no customer support they don’t answer the phone and they do not reply to emails I’ve tried numerous times in the last month.I bought it because they are advertised as being repairable around $400 it did a great job for seven years much stronger vacuum then a food saver. But they are worthless as far as support.Read the poor ratings on Amazon

$80 more on Amazon

I have bought two Vevor products... they seem good.

I have not bought this Chamber Vacuum Sealer yet.

Hi CashisKing, have you ever had a FoodSaver Vacuum Sealer? I have been using one for years, but they are far from perfect, and eventually loose their seal after being in the freezer for a longer time.

How does the VEVOR Chamber Vacuum Sealer work in comparison, would you happen to know?

Thanks ~

I do not know. Sorry...

I did buy and use the 15 liter VEVOR https://www.walmart.com/ip/VEVOR-0-...ntures-Small-Parts-Dental-Inst/514917024

...and was impressed... cleaning Suppressors...

And the VEVOR backhoe thumb... https://www.walmart.com/ip/VEVOR-36...e-16MM-Assembly-Bolt-On-Design/862607644

A36 steel, but for the $ it is fine. Will weld hardened rod edges if the wear becomes excessive.

VEVOR is becoming a "Direct to the US Consumer" vendor... I am not convinced yet that they suck... or if they are great... but they are finding a huge market for sure... thus I expect some diligence on quality.

Just saying...

I have had two Food Savers; both from Costco. It has bad seals about 1/3rd of the time and enough to frustrate me. I double seal bags a bit that seems to help but when my current Food Saver dies, I will replace it with a chamber sealer.

I have had good luck with my Avid Armor chamber sealer from Amazon. You can seal liquids and it's great for marinating meats.

I just ordered and received a Nesco that was featured on America's Test Kitchen. I guess they reviewed a bunch, and this won their recommendation. I haven't used it yet, but it seems to be designed and constructed well and it wasn't too expensive.

Edit: I just used the Nesco vacuum sealer this morning to bag some venison chili. It works great. It actually has some nice features. It has a lock-down lid, on-board roll holder and cutter. It has wet, dry and double seal mode. The vacuum has two settings. It has a marinate function, pulse function and it can seal canisters, but you have to buy the hose separately. I lucked out that the hose from my broken Foodsaver vac/sealer also fits this one.

It's slow sealing, but there's a little countdown that tells you the progress. So far, I'd recommend it.

I have a ziplock version from walmart. No issues. If sealing dry jerky or something, wrap in seran wrap so it don't poke holes thru it. If wet or damp, put a folded paper towel on the edge to catch moisture. I like the precut bags best and double seal the final edge.
