OT re: guns, but it's always bugged me how the good guy always buries the bad guy/s that just tried ta kill him.

Or, people that they just came across whilst travelin.

You'd never get where you're goin, if ya did that.

Never mind the energy/food/water you'd need to dig a proper hole.

Some of the antique shovels I've seen would make for very hard digging in anything other than sand. A flat bladed shovel isn't going to dig rocks no matter how hard you try.

Most of us would get fired for not following script. Any of our actors weigh in?
I like the musket being fired, then cock, prime, and look down the barrel while loading.

Pa Cartwright, Adam and the boys all were packing 1873 Colts.
The show was set in 1861. There was one episode where they talked about how the Civil War had just started.

We all have seen it, especially on tv crime shows where both male/female actor is gripping their pistol way to low on the handle.

These shows all have armorers on the set. Guess instructions on holding a pistol is too much to ask for. See Alec Baldwin.

I love it when the single action revolvers have 15 rounds in them, then they decide it’s time to reload!!

It always kills me to see a sniper rifle pulled outta a suitcase in 4 pieces, snapped together to kill someone at long range.
The camera almost always zooms into the trigger for dramatic effect, and the sniper always has about a 1/2 inch of travel on the trigger!

What gets me - people doing a period piece but the tools/houses etc are all period correct BUT aged like they would be at the time of filming.

IE: A show filmed in 1955. Rifle appropriate for the era of 1875 but looking old/weathered like it was 80 years old (real antique in 55), not nearly new like it would have looked in 1875.

Criminal sniper gets into a solid position on a window sill. Camera shows scope view. Crosshairs are about a foot off target, Shooter turns windage knob until crosshairs are on target.

Everytime a modern semiautomatic pistol is drawn from the holster it sounds like someone is cocking a Colt SAA. 🤔

Taking rifles down from the shoulder to work the lever.

Loading cartridges into percussion revolvers, and carrying cartridges for revolvers during the Civil War. Even the Good, Bad and Ugly made this mistake.

These are the same folks who produce Rx drug commercials with old guys fishing from shore, in chest waders, holding spinning reels upside down.

During the Civil War Colt invented a conversion kit and within 10 years the guns still using percussion were Dodo birds

In The Kid from Texas. Audie Murphy is Billy the Kid. He busts into a general store and asks for boxes of 30-30... in 1878. I've always wondered how much Winchester paid to have that little plug in the script. laugh
