Let's see how my memory's doing...
.222 Rem .223 Rem .220 Swift 6mm AR 6mm Rem 6mm-284 .25-06 Rem .264 Win Mag 6.8 SPC .280 Rem .30-06 Govt .35 Whelen .375 Win
.38 Special .357 Mag .40 S&W 10mm Auto .41 Mag .44 Mag .45 ACP .45 Colt
I loaded .243 Win for a while. For some damned reason I could never get a consistently good shooting load, and I went through five or six rifles before theowing in the towel. The 6mm-284 dialed right in and 6mm AR was no problem. I think .243 just doesn't like me and I don't like it back. Weird.
I'm gonna shrink that list before too long.

Could there have been an undiagnosed bad runout problem?

Always the same die set, but I think I was checking for runout...but then again I don't actually remember checking it. I had a tool to do it and I can't imagine not looking for a runout problem. The last .243 I loaded was 11 years ago.
I tried bullets from Sierra, Hornady, and Nosler in weights from 55 grains to 100 grains. Powders tried were Hunter, H4350, H4831, Re17, and Magnum. I'd see something promising now and then but never found it repeatable.
I'm sure I was the problem, but I never figured out where I was screwing up. I quit thinking about it when I got a rifle in 6mm Rem and one in 6mm-284 fell in my lap and they both proved easy to load. I've been tempted a time or two since then to buy a rifle out of the classifieds here and give it another whirl, but at this point in life I see no point...just another one of those mysteries I don't worry about anymore.

All of the major military cartridges of the Boer War, Sugar War, WW1 and WW2, the top 9 of black powder XX-XX, two wildcats, the .44-77 Flint Barely Improved and the famous 8mm-.310 Greener Flint Improved. 2 commercial cartridge Johnny Come Lately's....22 Hornet and .270 , and a small number of pre 1900 handgun cartridges.
Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.

It might be easier to ask what cartridges that you don't load.
I prefer classic. Semper Fi I used to run with the hare. Now I'm envious of the tortoise and I do my own stunts but rarely intentionally
