Mostly I've used the military style leather sling from Turner Saddlery, but in recent years I've also been using a Montana sling. Like 'em both.

I used a Brownell’s Latigo on the only sling-supported shot I’ve ever taken. Worked fine.

If Montana had a standing army, a 270 Win with Federal Blue Box 130's would be the standard issue.

I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

As a “graduate” of O’Connor’s Seven Lesson Rifle Shooting Course, I am a long-time proponent of the Whelen sling used in the sitting position, or was when dropping into a sit and slinging up wasn’t so fraught with peril. Only used it once on a deer, but shot a few chucks that way too. The deer, or rather some deer, were spotted below me across a ravine at something over 100 yards, which in the woods can look pretty far. I sat down quickly and put my arm through the sling, hand against the swivel, and when the little buck passed into the opening I had seen the does in, I touched off and smacked him. The entire process only took a few seconds, fifteen at most. Still have that sling, an old Hunter 1”. Need to get it out and practice, though getting up may take a bit longer than before. With such a sling adjusted properly, it is surprising how steady you can hold.
What fresh Hell is this?

I just use a Butler Creek Mountain Sling. A couple of my rifles have a Trader Keith Safari Strap.

1" Brownells Latigo sling for me if I anticipate any possibility to shoot slung up.
Too close for irons, switching to scope...

I never used one much hunting. Competitive shooting, yes. When I entered the dense timber to hunt elk, I took my sling off. No squeaks and it also made me have the rifle in my hands, not slung over my shoulder and I did not have to worry about it getting caught on limbs or brush. In open country, where distance was a consideration. I always picked a spot that had some sort of rest.

If God wanted you to walk and carry things on your back, He would not have invented stirrups and pack saddles

My Dad could shoot really well offhand and used a sling offhand. He had a leather Military sling.
