Pre 64’s keep their high value due to demand outpacing supply. If you understand this, it is not hard to apply the same logic to some other items as well.

Sqweeler: I have a pair of MINT condition Remington 700 Classics in caliber 222 Remington (looks like they are about the third "rarest") - along with several other 700 Classics in calibers 17 Remington and 221 Reminton Fireball on up to 7m/m Remington Magnum.
Only wish I would have invested in more of those "Classics"!
They indeed bring BIG money when in good condition+.
Oooohhh.... Big Green, where did you go wrong???
Thanks for posting that informative chart - I am copying it now (trying).

Sqweeler: I got into my "documents" and the chart on the Remington 700 Classics that I have does not include those much appreciated production numbers like your chart does!
But my chart also shows the following calibers offered originally in the Remington 700 Classics - I will list them, but again my chart does not show any production numbers!

22-250 Remington
243 Winchester
6m/m Remington
7m/m Remington Magnum
30-06 Springfield

If you come up with any production numbers (rarity!) on those five additional calibers in the Remington 700 Classics please advise.

Thanks again for your chart I have it copied and stowed now.

I don't have numbers as they are late 70's classics which were their regular production models.I had the first 4 when they first came out 7 Mauser,257 Rob,300 H&H and 250Sav.Only have the 250.Funny, brand new I paid $279 for the 7mm,257 and 250. The H&H was $289.I had a 6mm & 222.The 6mm I was told a while ago most likely is the rarest of that bunch. Don't mean to hijack this guy's thread but here's my 250Sav. No worries about hijacking post. Went south from the start. LOL

Buffalo River posted show grace and greatly appreciate that, thank you !

Feel many that posted responses would not even consider paying window sticker price for a new bronco, others gladly, even some perhaps $50k over.

God made us all different and tells us to love all. No use get upset.

All came about when needing tires for my truck. Price is outrageous in my opinion and lots more than two years ago.
While looking at the site seen a post for 257 brass. Figured I would see if someone may have a idea of true value for the classic. Haven’t seen any in this condition for sale or auction lately. Seen several other calibers go for well over what I let mine go for over a year ago. Prices vary if anyone watching the market regularly. Not having to sell but really not wanting to buy tires either.

Perhaps I would have been wiser to post ad looking to trade for new and cost of mount and balanced 35/12.50r18 tires.
Then I would have someone offering a set of knock-off cheap junk like the ones I currently have that I thought I was smart being cheap. Like to post a pic of my bedside torn up from where the tread separated. Junk

Can figure out about posting pics so no chance. Thanks guys

Maybe take another look and enjoy

Sqweeler: Thanks for the comeback!
I also sold off several Remington 700 Classics that I should NEVER have sold - or sold as cheaply as I did - including those in 25/06 Remington, 220 Swift and 22-250 Remington.
BTT for the original posters offering.

Knew a guy who had every Classic NIB hung on the wall.

I just bought a M700 Classic in 280(Unfired,no box)I paid 1185+tax=1256.10...... I thought that price was pretty dang gone high, but I wanted it. I'm going to give it to my son after I put it through it's paces.......I have to find out what I likes so I can load up a pile of ammo for him. A rifle is just a club without it.........Damn nice looking club if ya ask me

Allegedly the rarest Classic of all is the unlimited production in 308W. Made for one year in 1979. It sold so poorly only a few hundred or so were produced. It replaced the 6mm Rem that year. This was told to me by a Remington rep in the early 90's. I know I've never seen one........

This platform is a classified ads forum. These back-handed auctions are getting a bit tiresome, and I suspect maknwakes knows exactly what he is doing......

Besides, the froth is coming off of most everything that goes bang, including the bubble surrounding M700's.
