That's the list it showed on Wikipedia for one.. I would have thought a true savage list would have listed ie. 250-3000 as that was a true Savage cal... and wonder what yr the .7mm-08 came along...
The model that was made in the most calibers was the 99EG. It was produced in 303 Sav, 30-30, 22 Hipower, 250-3000, 300 Sav, 243, 308 and 358.

According to Murray the 7mm-08 was chambered in the 99C in 1981-1984.
I was at an auction a few years back and one of them was on the rack. The bidding was in the stratosphere and I fell out so quick it was not funny. I don't remember what it ended at but it made the .358 look silly.
We photographed the 1930's prototype 30-06 and included it in the collector's guide page 87. When I was working with Ron Coburn on the collector's guide he told me they tried to redesign the 99 to handle 30-06 size cartridges while he was CEO. He said the redesigned rifle wouldn't bear any resemblance to the 99 we all know and love. This is discussed in more detail on page 121 of the collector's guide
