That's a pretty good price these days. I bet it won't last long.

Judging from some of the comments on here regarding original/restored, that would make a respectable hunting/shooting iron. whistle whistle smile

Definitely... that's my kind of rifle. If I was in the market for a 300 I'd be on it.

Barrel length, serial number, and forend checkering, is what catches my eye first.

If I remember correctly it was a Weaver no. 7. I had one for the longest time because I knew I would find an original factory drilled early model. Never happened. Gifted it to a young man in the navy at Norfolk a couple years ago to let him continue the hunt.

Not a Weaver T7. The center hole being lower isn't ringing a bell for me. When I first glanced at it and saw 3 holes I was thinking Pachmayer, but it's not the standard Pachmayer.

I think you mean T7 and that only had 2 holes, not 3. I am thinking an Echo mount.

The Echo mount holes were straight across, unless there were different versions.

One I had:

It would be nice if someone would create a Sticky with pics of all the KNOWN side hole mounts.
Seems like every time a gun shows up without the mount everyone is at a loss to identify the hole pattern. If forum members with an identified side mount on their 99 would provide a pic a valuable reference would readily be available.
