Has anyone seen a Leupold scope marked like this one before? I researched this model and didn't see any quite like this one. I'm wondering if it's a knockoff? Thanks for any input you may offer.

I have one for an AR-15 in a different power range. Bought it probably over 15 years ago. I know they made a line called that but have no idea of all models or if yours is legit.

Any other markings ?
Did they make scopes without the gold ring?

I always have Leupold verify the authenticity before I buy used. It takes all of 2 minutes with them over the phone. Those phone calls have saved me alot of money.

The photo is from an Ebay posting. I know Leupold made a model called the "Mark AR" fairly recently, but it seems to be out of production now. The other ones I have found aren't marked like this (they all hade the gold ring and stylized Leupold emblem), which made me wonder if it's actually a Leupold at all. This is a 1.5-4x20 scope. The only other markings except the power adjustment ring are:

Leupold made the Mark AR that looked like this, & later brought out the Mark AR mod 1. They look different, & most have exposed turret knobs unlike the capped on the early ones.
But yeah, a call is the best bet if in question.

Let us know what you find out. At a glance it looks counterfeit to me.

None of the Mark AR's had gold rings. Ever seen one of their "Tactical" series scopes with a gold ring?

I honestly thought everything Leupold has made in the last 20 years or so had the gold ring, but I use scopes mostly on woods rifles and have no experience with the bigger/fancier/longer range offerings.

"Common counterfeit scopes purport to be Mark 4 riflescopes, VX-III riflescopes, Prismatic riflescopes, CQ/T riflescopes, LCO sights, and Deltapoint Pro sights. These counterfeits are regularly returned to us for service due to failures; however, counterfeit products are not manufactured by Leupold and are not covered by the Leupold Full Lifetime Guarantee. That has a serial number on the turret boss. Call Leupold and ask them to check that serial number. I've seen a Leupold labeled product that looked like the real deal but a serial number check proved it was a counterfeit piece.

Tactical series I don't recall all the names were all black. It takes maybe 2 minutes with a serial number and a phone call to confirm though. One reason I liked gloss , never saw a fake gloss leupold

Leupold says this is one of theirs. Thanks, everyone! I definitely learned some things from y'all.
