So I noticed 2 days ago that our daffodils are sprouting, which is about 2 months early. Did not think much about it until today when I saw a group of Robins on my lawn. We are mostly in the 40's in the daytime and have been for weeks, plus super low on snowfall - my lawn is bare. Syracuse NY is 45" short of it's normal snowfall as of yesterday only receiving about 38" for the season so far. I know you guys out West are buried in snow but we have yet to really have winter and here it is early February. I don't buy into the Global Warming crap but it has been an odd "Winter".

I know you guys really need the moisture, but yeah, I can identify with getting sick of moving it. We had one winter about 10 years ago where it was like Groundhog Day - Get up, dressed and go move lots of snow, morning after morning.

I saw some daffodils blooming here. About normal considering it hadn’t been a real cold winter

Weatherman here "Fingerlakes" said next year we will be back in a normal weather pattern.
We are way off on snowfall as well, which is fine with me.

Where in NY are you ? My lawn is still covered with snow and it was -10 yesterday morning. We got 10" of snow in one storm a couple weeks ago and there are no daffodils sprouting here. It has been a milder winter than usual but spring it is not and winter still has plenty of time to dump more snow and misery.

The OP needs to get in his car and drive 2 hours north if he’s missing winter. Yesterday morning it was -29F and we have snow up to our asses. Maybe I’ll take the little lady on a spring break vacation to Syracuse!!

Yes, we had a one day dip to -13 Friday/Saturday morning but then right back up in temps. Yes, you guys up near Lake Ontarion/Tug hill keep getting what we are not. And, NO I am not complaining about the lack of snow. Have not used my snowblower or tractor all season so far, just shoveled what little we have gotten.

I have not put a drop of gas in my snow blower yet. Least amount of snowfall I have ever seen in NYC. They officially measured .4" last week as our 1st snow so far YTD, but we had none at my home.

Here in Central N.Y. we've had a Turkey Vulture all winter long. Not normal!

Same 15 minutes south of you. Would you happen to belong to Dunhams Bay Rod and Gun club?

Ahhh yes, the Garvey rules. No thanks I’d rather drive 45 min away and not feel survy’d

Here in Sullivan County, we also have had a good winter. Only 2 really cold snaps. This weekend and around Christmas. February is usually the snowiest month for us and usually get a slammer snow storm in March or sometimes in early April.
Haven’t heard how much they have had in the Tug Hill area. I imagine quite a bit as usual from the lake effect
Any how, it suits me fine. Not a big cold or snow fan.

Lived in NY for many years before heading South. Doesn’t matter what type of winter your having. NY Springs are cloudy, windy, damp, and wet. Interspersed by a handful of beautiful teaser days. Weather does not get reliably nice until the middle of May.
