Thanks for posting this story. I was a Submariner for 4.5yrs on Fast Attacks EN2 [SS] this was my boat USS Nautilus [SSN571] that was almost a statistic for all the wrong reasons Nov. of 66 in the Atlantic playing war games with a Carrier. I believe it was the Essex. I was on After Aux. watch, O2 gen., scrubbers, burners, hydraulics, etc. I heard the sound of the collision coming towards the back of the boat, like it was being torn off topside, quite a shock when I went topside once we were safe ![[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]](https://i.imgur.com/pxQ0Bmx.jpg)

Dayom. Why my uncle who served as an officer in France and Germany in WW2 hated the Military and Patton too.
Too many stupid sons of bitches in positions of power who didn't have the sense God gave a pissant and ended up being the cause of death for many fine, young, red blooded unsung heros who gave their all. He saw too many die in their boots, used by those for fodder and enamored with power and glory to give a crap about ordinary grunts other than to use them for all they could get.
