I have read a dozen reviews of SAKO’s latest rifle. I handled one this week and was impressed by the ergonomics. A litte heavier than i like but quite a nice handling gun. What is the opinion of those who may have had an opportunity to shoot one.
Thank you.

Also curious about the S20. I like thumbhole stocks and don't mind a little extra weight.

"I read somewhere" that people who make critical posts and are unable to provide sources are probably just boosting post count.

IME hard to find a bad SAKO.

I'm a committed fan of Sako.
Now that in mind, I'm a wood and blued guy, but the S20 that is on deer camp group is a heck of shooter from what I can see.
Easily shoots well beyond my capabilities. (to be fair, that is every rifle though)

Sako seems to be the easy button for sure. Hoping to get out to shoot the S20 PRC today.

Bought 2 S20’s 6.5 Prc and a .308 both used. Prc was 1/2 to 3/4 inch at 100 with 143eldx factory, reloads shot 1/2 or less with 127LRX. Got 308 during deer season sighted in with factory 150 grain core locks 2” groups at 300yds. I shoot lefthand and the thumbhole stock felt fine

I shoot left handed as well. I handled one at LL BEAN twice this week on my way to and from Northern Maine. It was pretty cool feeling and it was right there when i shouldered it. The price was $300 higher than other dealers.

I am leaning towards a .270 and will likely purchase one.

I did walk out with a Browining X BOLT 300wsm in stainless for a NF moose hunt this year.

How many bolt lugs and where are the extractor and ejector located with regard to the bolt face (on extraction) ?

You may have something there. I shot a friends A7 in .308 a few years ago using his handloads. 5 shots into .5" at 212 yards. 4 were in one hole, the 5th made it out of the group to make it .5" group.

127LRX 62.0 grains mag pro mag primer2.870 overall. Shot the factory Barnes 127 LRX and they were .625 at 100. 143eldx mag pro 60.0 grains mag primer 2.933 overall between 1/2 and 3/4 according to my ability that day. As Toby Keith said ain’t as good as I once was.

Cabela's had some display models for $1000. Not sure what's left though.

I have a S20 in 270 in the corner waiting for me to make time to mount the scope. Got it from Lafayette Shooters on GB, both hunter & precision stocks for 1099.00. Pretty good deal, they still have a few listed, including a 308 w/ 20" barrel.

Looking forward to this gun at range and hunting.
