Smith & Wesson Heritage 1917 Military, Model 25-12, in 45 acp, No Lock, $1,250/Shipped.Has a 5 ½ inch barrel, round butt, fixed sights (the front sight is pinned), a lanyard ring and a velvety looking blue finish. Believe it was unfired when I got it, I’ve put approx. 1 ½ boxes of 45 acp through it. Other than a light turn ring on the cylinder and a mark where the lanyard ring contacts the grip frame, it is in very good condition. The bore is bright & shiny. Includes the box, fired case, lock & the included paperwork. These are rare and even rarer in the ‘No Lock’ version. There were 107 of these built by the Performance Center and sold through ‘Lew Horton’. The following is from a letter a guy over at the S&W Forum got from Lew Horton; “Thank you for your interest in Lew Horton Distributing. Your Smith & Wesson Performance Center Heritage Series Model 1917 Military (S&W #170218), serial number BAV00XX, is indeed a Lew Horton Special Edition. It was a tribute to the S&W’s US 45 ACP service revolver of World War I. This model, chambered in 45 ACP, was finished in military blue, had a 5 ½ inch tapered barrel, a round front sight blade, a lanyard ring and plain walnut grips. It was shipped in a commemorative gold colored cardboard box with metal corners that recreated the old style Smith &Wesson box. This gun is one of 107 units received in that configuration. This model had a special serial number run of BAV0000 to BAV0143. Many serial numbers (37) in this run were not received. These Model 1917’s were manufactured by Smith & Wesson and delivered to Lew Horton Distributing from 2001 to 2002. Your gun was delivered to Lew Horton’s in October of 2001. This Lew Horton Special Edition is listed on pages 435 & 441 of the Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson, 4th Edition.” Link for above letter; http://smith-wessonforum.com/s-w-revolvers-1980-present/529951-heritage-series-model-1917-military.html?highlight=s%26amp%3Bw+model+25+heritage First “I’ll Take It” here, followed by a PM Jerry

This gun (an original, w/a square butt) and later a British S&W Mark II hand ejector in 455 Webley.
Thanks Fotis.
