Any idea approx what they're asking?? I *think* it was around $700, but can't remember for sure...I can find out this week. I'd appreciate it!

Yeah, it is ridiculous what is being asked for Remington guns, period- not just the 7600 and 760. I have a synthetic 7600 in .270 that I thought about selling, but then to replace it should I ever get the pump gun itch again, would be too much. Plus, they are kind of a PA thing, I might not allowed in some camps if I didn’t at least have one.

I have a 760 in 30-06 I’d sell pretty cheap. I don’t know why it doesn’t shoot accurately. I’ve owned a 76 & a couple 7600’s that were very accurate. Someone on the fire said it was due to the muzzle. If that was the problem cutting the barrel back or boring it to 35 would take care of it. Wouldn't that make a nice long throat 9.3x57mm Mauser. It'd be like a 358 Winchester only better.

Hmmm maybe my memory is failing but haven't other guys had JES rebore and chamber to 9.3x62?..mb Incidentally my scoped Remington 760 in 35 Remington weighs exactly the same as my scoped 700 mountain rifle. Rifle weight is a bit of a concern with the 9.3x62mm. Thinking a handloader would be better off with a 9.3x57mm. It'd make all the Canadian moose hunters drool.

A 35 Whelen is easy. A 9.3x62 not so. Nothing you shoot will ever know the difference.

The easy button is a Whelen and that probably makes the most sense. A 760 in 35 Whelen would be an excellent combination.

Did find a 760 last run, so looks like a 7600....in .35 rem.
Decent shape w crap.scope, for 800. Ouch. Wondering if i should get it, have bbl cut to 18.5, cerakote and slap an Aimpoint H2 on it. Of course, synth stock w high comb. While bubba is having his way with that nice old survivor, he might as well run a 358Winchester reamer into it and completely ruin it. I have a beautiful 65 in 308 I picked up here with the intentions of making it a 358 carbine, but after getting it I can't bring myself to do it. It's in too good a condition. I would like to find a 35 Rem someday though. This rifle loony-ism I was infected with by the campfire is getting ridiculous though.
They say everything happens for a reason. For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.
