Anyone ever taken these head to head? Looking at a used Conquest 4.5-14x44 vs a new Elite 4500 4-16x50.

I've done a direct comparison of a Conquest 3-9x40 MC and an Elite 4200 3-9x40. The glass and eye relief are better in the Conquest. I've never felt hindered by the 4200, though. I don't know how much the current iteration of the Bushnell changed. It's no longer made in Japan, is it?

Isn’t the 4500 Korean built? The original conquests ir the meopta built scopes. Imo the glass was a noticeable leg up on a 4200

Have owned numerous examples of both and have always found the conquest to be more pleasing to the eye and gather light a bit better

You'll be money ahead if you buy the Conquest. If for no other reason that if it ever has any issues, they will replace it with a V4. Just something to think about.. IF you can buy the Conquest right (the last one I bought was $500), it could be a "money maker". The current V4 4-16x44 is right around $1,000.00.

Saw that but, it's doesn't have a duplex reticle.

Yeah but the reticle is more useful and doesn’t struggle in low light

Cant make a comparison but......i purchased the conquest you've mentioned 12 or so years ago......and have purchased several very nice optics since....

The conquest glass is as good as any ive collected......my meopta R1 fixed 7x56 is a bit better, but its fixed, and its a 56 objective.

I'm not real happy with the glass on my new V4 4-16x44. It doesn't focus as well as it should. I won't go into great detail there, but "great glass for the money", is highly subjective. Like I said in an earlier post, they are going for somewhere around $1,000.00. At that price point, I'd expect the clarity and focus to be better. it does track very well though, and does not have bass ackwards turrets like the old Conquests, such as the one the OP is inquiring about. I just went and checked out the scope you have in the classifieds, post some pics man. The price is pretty good though. Wondering why you are selling it, if the glass is so great??? I have no qualms about the reticle in your scope though. Much better than a "duplex", as far as I'm concerned.

I'm in agreement. That is a great reticle.

Sorry, I didn’t have a place to host the pics at the moment but it looks to be sold anyway. I wound up going for a higher magnification scope on my waypoint
