I inherited a GP100 in 357 magnum and was curious to your thoughts on this pistol? My dad bought it new. When he passed my brother got it, and after my brother passed I got it.
Thanks

I have a Wiley Clapp GP100 w/3 inch barrel and love it. Yes, its a bit heavy but the durability of these revolvers is legendary.

Sorry for your losses.

Damn fine pistol that's built like a tank. Take it, enjoy it and decide who you want to leave it to.

I have a 4" stainless I bought used back when newspapers were the information web. It's been shot so much the rifling shows ware at the forcing cone. It's what I use when I expect bad weather or adverse conditions. I also use it to test heavy loads, and dry fire practice.. It's never been apart, hesitated to function, or shown any loss of accuracy. The only revolver I own that has rubber grips on it, because it's all business. I'll never sell or trade it. Not even for a new one.

They're outstanding. At least my blued 4" GP100 has been. Yesterday I took my GP out with an ancient S&W 38spl and a S&W 317 22lr. The GP100 and the old S&W are right on the money and excellent. My new grail gun, the S&W 317 22lr is a overpriced dog turd. Love the GP100, loathe the S&W 317.

My ss 5" 357 is the most accurate of my hand guns and while not my edc, it is my favorite field carry.

I have a 6ā€ stainless 357 I got from my dad that is my favorite and most accurate handgun to shoot! They are built like tanks and accurate to boot. I know will never get rid of mine!

I had a pistol scope I was going to post in the classifieds but I saw a scope mount posted yesterday by cousdeer for a 6ā€ GP100 that I bought. Iā€™m gonna scope it and see what I can do with it.

6ā€ GP100 stainless with no bottom lug was the first ā€œbigā€ revolver I ever bought. I got damn lucky because at the time I didnā€™t know just how great of a gun it is. Iā€™ll never get rid of that one.

This thread motivated me to get mine out. I'd forgotten how accurate it is.

I own only one and it is a great piece. I tuned and shimmed the action and it shoots the MBW 180 gr LFN well.

I have a 6" stainless with the short shroud. It's a great but often underappreciated revolver. I bought it new in the 80's and just popped in a HiViz sight from Ruger to help with the fading black ramp. šŸ˜€

Leave the gun, take the canolis.
