It's relaxing and I tend to do it during contemplative times. Around a campfire at the end of day or while fishing. I'm not a daily smoker.

I'm with you, Teal. I don't smoke very often but do enjoy smoking a pipe when out fly fishing, before daylight in the duck blind, at elk camp, after an upland bird hunt or around the fire in Africa. My Chesapeake Bay Retriever, German Shorthaired Pointers, horses and mules seem to enjoy those contemplative and relaxing times too.

Btw, it's kind of weird these days that tobacco is being outlawed by governments and drugs are being legalized and openly used.

Lately I’ve been enjoying CaptainBlack, Ole Shenandoah Single Cask, and Dunhill Standard Mixture Mellow.

My granddaddy smoked a pipe. I don’t remember what brand he smoked, but his house always smelled wonderful.

Half and Half was my Grandfather’s favorite, he also smoked Grainger. We lived a couple miles away from the Parodi Cigar factory and he had a friend who worked there who brought him a large grocery store paper bag filled with Parodi ‘seconds’ a couple times a year, he really enjoyed breaking them up and smoking in his pipe.

Just goofing around. Think you knew that.
But it is true, no idea how long.

I used to enjoy a cigar, but I can't stand hours of ashtray breath anymore.

Before I retired I worked for the Director of Engineering at my job, the guy was a pipe fanatic. Many lunch hours were spent visiting the local pipe shops, he'd invite me to his home from time to time for a pipe show to view his latest acquisitions. Also got to try his current favorite tobacco blends, it was a real education.

I can still smell the stench of his "Half&Half" pipe tobacco! 😖 Even as a kid, that was some vile crap!

Grandpa smoked "roll your own" P.A.'s.
Dad smoked a pipe. Sir Walter Riley.
Dad kept Bull Durham in the bag to give to the horses for bots. If you ain't never gagged and choked on a hand rolled Bull "Derm", you ain't lived! LOL!

I haven't smoked in decades and the smell of a smoker turns my stomach, but I could still go through 2 packs a day of Marlboro "Red's in a box" and never bat an eye! 😖

My dad was a pipe smoker. For 60? years he sucked on
Sir Walter Raleigh which always reminded me of old burning socks. In later years, on Sundays he smoked Captain Black, but always said it gummed up his pipe. By that time in his life his lungs were shot and heart disease had taken its its toll.

This reminds me of my Dad's array of pipes, he had about 5-6 of them on a stand like that.

GrandDad always smoked Sue Walter Raleigh in his pipes. Loved the smell of it when I was a kid. When I inherited a bunch of his pipes and old pipe stand about 35 years ago, I bought some and tried it out. Wasn’t half bad.

When I smoked pipe, and rolled cigarettes, it was mostly Velvet.

If you can't smoke Flying Dutchman, you can't smoke.

Just a bit as a youngster. Those with great aroma tasted like sh-t. The reverse seemed applicable too.
