Any of you hunters/shooters own one? I bought one for each of my two youngest kids. My son has shot his a lot. My daughter is too young for it, but she'll grow into it. So far, my son's has fired flawlessly. he has yet to hunt with it, but I suspect it'll work well on jackrabbit-sized game. Any reviews for this model? Comments?

Oh, I bought them the day Winchester announced it was closing. It was a move that has yet to compensate for my more numerous dumber ones! Turners in So Cal had only four left and I got there in time to buy two of 'em! I hope my kids grow to appreciate my effort!

Mando,
I've got a Win. 94-22 Legacy with pistol grip (24" barrel). Is this similar to the "Tribute" ?
Thanks, Virgil B.

You're talking about the ones with the tribute markings right?

I did some of the same, as soon as I heard they were retiring the ttoling for the 9422's, 9422M's, 9417's I went shopping.

found a NIB 9422M yellowboy for under 350.

sat on it for a while & gave it to my boy for his 10th b-day this year.

last weekend he used it to shoot a snowshoe hare that I cleaned & cooked for him.

These are fantastic rifles, your kids will certainly cherrish them & I'm certain you will never regret your purchase.

here, check out my post on pretty much the same topic if you like.

I'm a huge fan of these rifles.

Good job!!

northern_dave,

What a great story. Ain't nothin' like a father-son relationship, but the fairer sex might opine differently. Hell, how can any female get excited about giving jewelry to her daughter? Don't women know their daughters want guns, too???

I bought the last tribute 9422 in Canada last June 2006 when my son was born. I have a 94/22M and the BL-22 my dad bought me in 1972, so the Tribute will stay in wrap until Jr. can take the first shots with it.
