FedEx just delivered a package (about 30 minutes after dark).
Miss Lillie our 80% pregnant Mountain Cur 2 year old went out to meet the truck... she is super friendly and jumped into the truck... tail wagging... happy happy... asking for her "typical" doggy treat.
The driver kicks her out of the truck... she get up... tail still wagging jumps back in the truck... he kicks her again.
I am walking out to the truck (in the dark) and watch the whole thing happening.
Granted... the kicks were rather mild... more of a heavy push then an iron boot, but she leaves airborn.
Obviously... my Glock went from Condition 2 to Condition 1 immediately... in case there had been a third kick... or a severe kick.
Your opinion matter. What would you do?
The age and race of the FedEx driver is irrelevant.
If you are not actively engaging EVERY enemy you encounter... you are allowing another to fight for you... and that is cowardice... plain and simple.

Cameras recording? If not, you know what to do.
Devil's advocates will say something about how mail drivers deal with plenty of dogs who are aggressive or look friendly and then become aggressive. Fuçk the driver, and fuçk them too.

Sorry this happened but it shouldn't have.....
I love dogs especially happy ones but what was the FedX guy supposed to do with your dog or you and your handgun?
He's doing his job and it's a thankless job at that.

Not sure what I would have done, but the Glock would not have been involved.

I'd probably call my dog over. Then yell "sorry about that".

Cameras recording? If not, you know what to do. In that situation it's more important to know what not to do.

My Lab is super friendly but barks like a maniac anytime somebody drives up to the house. I keep him away from delivery people. They don't know him like I do.

I would call the cops on you if you pulled the gun for sure or flashing it or anything else over a dog. You need to train your dog better and keep it from going into someone else's vehicle. In my opinion, He would have every right to kick the crap out of your dog (even though he did not). He does not know it and how do you know he has not had bad experiences with dogs... How do you know if he is not highly allergic to dogs? it is common for delivery guys to get harassed by dogs, chased by them, etc... You need to take better care of your dog and train it better. The whole situation is your fault.

The driver has likely had his share of dog problems. Big time.
He don't know your dogs attitude or pregnancy status.
Its late in the day & he's tired, but maybe shouldn't be there after dark anyway? A double edged sword here?
Prepping your Glock? Wow!
You asked.

If you actually pulled your gun out over that, you should not be allowed to own a gun...

Get the drivers name and report him….after dragging him out of his truck and knocking the snot out of him. NO ONE mistreats anyone in our family. That includes our dogs. I might have been pulling the trigger right after the second kick he imparted to your dog. Just a warning shot and then let him know where the next shot will be going. At the least turn him in for animal cruelty.

my dog has done the same thing, but the driver was friendly. If he got mad at my dog for climbing in his rig I would apologize and grab my dog so he couldn't do it again.

You didn't control your dog, you said you saw the whole thing walking out to the truck. Call your dog to heel. You could lose your dog if you don't enforce simple commands....your dog could get a serious ass kicking from another dog, run over...do the dog a favor, train it.
