I bought this a month or 2 ago and really like it. As far looks go it's a really nice reproduction of the original but I just couldn't warm up to those laminate grips. I got these from Deer Hollow and not only do they look better but grip better and seem to fit my hand better too. Just slightly thinner at the top and seem a little wider at the bottom. These are his late 3rd generation replica's. They weren't cheap but they fit well and IMO really improve the looks. I really like the raised checkering.

Those are beautiful, and better looking than the new ones. Can you give us a link to this fellow. I want to see if I can get a replica set of grips for my Colt Model 357. Worse case scenario, it will actually take Python grips. How much were they?

Most everything is out of stock. I emailed him and he told me it stay's that way and to put myself on his notification list for the ones I wanted. I did that and about a month later I got an email last Saturday night and ordered them immediately. Sunday morning they were all gone! Look at his Colt page. I bet he has something on there you'd like.

These first gen Colt Python grips look a lot like the grips that came with the Model 357. Compare to the originals:

I looked at those after your post and thought the same thing. You get to pick the medallion color too.
Don't forget to get a grip pin too!

That really is a great looking revolver. Those grips are perfect with it.
I heard somewhere that at the last SHOT show that Colt was going to be coming out with a 4” Anaconda - anyone else heard this? Colt’s website still not showing that.

Those look great, just like the factory grips on my 1979 Python.

Oh that's a good looking Python. A 4" nickel plated Python was the first pistol I ever shot. My uncle was the police chief of Leighland MS. He would take me hunting a couple of times a year. After the hunt he would pull out the Python and hand it to me. He would point at something (paint can, bottle, etc.) and tell me to shoot it. If I hit it I got to shoot it again. If I missed the game was over. A 7 year old shooting a Colt Python. Good times

Been tempted to get a new Pytbon and go w Hogue rosewood.
Me and Colt factory grips dont get along. However, Smith target grips I really like.

He later had Troopers, Diamondbacks and other Pythons. Buy I always preferred the first one, a 6" blued. I have it now. Took a deer and a coyote w it.

She said " they have both a 6 inch Python and Anaconda....would make a nice set "
