I put a Lilja 3 groove barrel on my CZ 457. Shoots very well.

Who’d you have build it? Action, trigger, stock, barrel maker? I’ve been looking for a proven used gun to play with.

I have several but this particular gun Mark at Penrod Precision built. It’s a Hall action, Benchmark 3 groove barrel, jewel trigger, Harrels tuner, McMillian stock. I shot the gun this evening indoors at 50 yards and was really amazed! The gun shot 5-6 different lots of ammo I had on hand really well. It’s always funny how one gun will shoot this flavor hood and another gun will shoot a 3” group with that flavor.

So in conclusion, after reading up on 3 groove rifling and after shooting the gun, I can say 3 groove rifling is as good as any other groove you’d choose! I’m very happy with it!

Mark Penrod is one of the best gunsmiths around. You got a real good rifle there and built by one of the best.

In a 22lr it is probably just fine. I have an AR with a 3 groove barrel in a varmint contour and it is probably my worst shooter (out of my AR's). Your rifle is a beauty. Mark Penrod does some great work.
