Hi I picked up a ruger made in 1963, it came with see thru mounts, I bought a set of Weaver mounts for the Deerfield 44 auto, they don't look right the holes line up but the front mount is taller than the rear mount. Any help would be appreciated as I know little about them.
Deer Camp! about as good as it gets!

The front mount should attach to the barrel. It will be thicker than the rear mount Ronnie

The Deerfield is a different rifle altogether, that has integral bases on the receiver. Your rifle will need the proper base and matching rings like Weaver.
What fresh Hell is this?

Thanks guys, I see it mounts to the barrel, I do have the #47 & #68 mounts, the 4 holes on the receiver kinda thru me.looks like I'll have to use the Lyman 4x with a post on it.
