M700 Ti LA Magnum bolt face. Pristine condition. Factory original. Action only (bolt & receiver). No trigger or magazine.

$1500. Ship to FFL.

PM’s best but reply here as well.

RinB,
Through the years I have heard Smith and Wesson made these for Remington; recently someone who was a former Remington employee who had one for sale stated he thought it was a firm who did aerospace work out of Ohio. If anyone here would know, you would - do you know definitively who made them?
Thanks, and BTT for you.

I have had 5 of them. I can tell you that the threads inside the receiver are beautifully machined. Therefore I doubt Remington made them. Much too nice. The two on my personal rifles needed nothing in the way of “blueprinting”.
I have owned both Lone Peak and XTreme actions and the original 700’s are my first choice.
I have way too much stuff sitting around here.

Understood, and thanks for the reply.

This would probably be the rarest of all the ti configurations, because the LA mags were only available during the short (1-2 year) run of the Alaska ti. I bet the serial number is in the 7-9k range?

Make a heck of a seven PRC for somebody.

Yes it was an Alaskan. I purchased it new and sold it to a pal. He sold the stock and barrel. I got it back. The action has been sitting here for years.

Hardly an expert but I've also been told that S & W did the Ti actions - I do know for sure that they where not built by Remington. Also, I've talked about the Rem Ti actions several times with Karl Feldkamp @Kampfeld Customs who IMHO is one of the best smiths and he said these actions are extremely well made and don't need any "work". I kick myself for selling my 7MM-08.
Bump for a great action at a great price!!

Nice. I have a 7 Rem Mag barrel that came from a Ti. Pretty sure it's new. Been saving it for awhile now.

I also was told they were outsourced and NOT made by Remington. I wish I could remember who I was told made them. If I remember correctly, it was a smaller company, or like has been mentioned, maybe someone who did aerospace work.

RinB, it was Ed Sweet of Meridian who told me. Ed is a long time, and now retired gunsmith. He’s a treasure, and a treasure trove of information. He also said they were very well made and straight.

Best to all,

Bob

I have a 2nd gen Alaskan Ti in 7mm Rem Mag. It's a shooter. I would love to build something compact and ultralight in the 7 PRC with this!
