Pete is a local guy here in the Bozeman, MT area. Probably the simplest thing to do is just call him and ask what questions you have:

Did I miss the price for the action in that thread? I remember reading along when that thread was first posted. Just re-read it and didn’t see the price for it in that thread. Did I miss it?

You didn't miss it - apart from speculation, I've never found where the actual cost of the action is quoted in any conversation about it. John Barsness wrote an article about the LX-1 action in RIFLE magazine. He might know.

It's certainly going to be well north of $5,000.

KKid,
Do you have a access to a telephone?

I am not trying to be disrespectful but if you want to know then call and inquire.

PS heat treating and case hardening are distinctly different things to do to the material from which mauser 98 type actions were manufactured.
M21 is a poor choice because the Czechs removed way too much metal from the feed rails. The 1909’s are far superior provided they are properly brought up to correct standards.

Some decades ago I had a personal chat with
Ted Blackburn , he ranked Noreen about 4/10
and Hartman-Weiss 10/10.

Noreen sold out to WFH..I had a look at WFH
actions at Reno SCI and found them wanting.
So nothing changed much even after changing
hands.
