http://www.cofcc.org/?p=811 Mike Huckabee is to the left of even Sam Brownback and John McCain on immigration. He claimed God wants us to give amnesty to millions of illegal aliens. As Governor of Arkansas he advocated letting illegal aliens vote.
While Huckabee is now lying and saying he is dedicated to fighting illegal immigration, his record is clear.
Fact #1. As Governor of Arkansas, Mike Huckabee denounced an immigration bill (Arkansas Senate Bill 206) that �would have required proof of citizenship to register to vote and would have required state agencies to report suspected cases of people living in the country illegally.�

Fact #2. As Governor, Mike Huckabee offered a proposal to give state funded scholarships and state benefits to illegal aliens. (Laura Kellams, �Huckabee Plan would give aid to illegal aliens� Arkansas Democrat Gazette 1/12/2005)
Fact #3. Governor Huckabee supported the McCain-Kennedy Senate Amnesty bill for illegal aliens. Huckabee claims to know God�s position on the Amnesty Bill, and that God supports it. Fact #4. Governor Huckabee refuses to sign the �No Amnesty Pledge�.
Mike Huckabee is in 14th place in Presidential fund raising. He is in 8th place out of all the Republicans. However, the �mainstream� media calls him a top tier candidate. As of Oct. 24th, Huckabee has raised less than 2.65 million all year. Is he really a top tier candidate in the eyes of the public, or in the wishful thinking of the left-wing media?
Fact #5 Huckabee's position on immigration, is to imprison employers who hire illegal aliens. Thus ending illegal immigration...period. Fact #6 Huckabee is so far ahead of Ron Paul in Iowa, he would need a spotting scope to see him.

If I weren't supporting RP, Huckabee would be my candidate. I might only agree with 50% of the things he says and he has a tendency to be just as quirky as RP but I believe he is an honest man and believes in what he says. Mike Huckabee was a pretty decent governor for Arkansas by most standards of measurement. He's also an ardent supporter of RKBA. He's also IMO an honest man. He will however, make you 'take the castor oil 'cause it's good for ya' even if you don't need a dose of castor oil. He really and truly believes that what HE feels is best for folks, IS best for folks, regardless of whether folks feel that way or not. I'd probably vote for him over Hillary, just hope I don't have to make that decision. He sure ain't my first choice (nor 2nd, 3d, or 4th) for POTUS.
