When’s the last time you’ve checked yours and had to clean it out?

It's amazing how much lint gets past the filter.

I think anybody that builds a house with a dryer not on an outside wall should be hung by their toes on the courthouse square for all to watch.

Ha!

Mine is on an interior wall.

My house was slid down the hill and then added on to.

It was built before electricity and plumbing.

So you better bring help!

I bought the house next to my son to flip. Previous owners let most things go, dryer venting included. When we removed the 4" hard pipe, it had an opening the size of a tennis ball end to end of a 5' piece. The actual wall cap with extension had a golf ball sized opening. I could see how this situation would be troublesome.

Every 3 years, replace coil that goes to vent. Probably should be done yearly.

The thing I hate about dryer vents is that's its one of the biggest loss of heat factors in my house. Especially when it gets below zero. I found a video of a dryer venting into a bucket of water I'm thinking of trying at least for the winter.

My dryer vent from machine to exhaust is approximately 12 inches!
We had a real problem with mice chewing through those plastic outside louvered vents.
I fashioned a hardware (hail cloth?) cloth screen to fit over the outside vent.
No more dehydrated mice to clean out of the vent! 👍
....or live mice in the house! 😡

I have a gas dryer. I'm gonna pass on this idea as I'm not really wanting to die of asphyxiation.

Our laundry room is in the basement, we have used this setup for 40 years, works fine.

Amen. Only problem with this is is usually puts the plumbing for the washer on that same outside wall, which is a really bad idea in at least half of the nation.

I clean the lint from the screen on the dryer after every cycle. Didn't realize others wouldn't.
