A little above your budget but a buddy uses and is quite pleased with the Vortex fury at $1,200 or less.

Thanks. I’m not dead set on a $1000. Plus or minus a few hundred.

This is a great range finding binocular. I've compared this model to my buddies Vortex Furry, and there is no question about which one is better. That's a good price as well.

I sure don’t know what’s better but I’ve been extremely pleased with the little 8x32 sigs. I don’t have much experience with the high end models though.

This is what I’ve been hearing from EVERYONE that’s tried the various range finding binoculars including the high dollar European stuff. In fact in this case the advice and opinions are 100% in favor of the Sig Kilo

This will beat the $hit out of any Vortex or other cheap Chinese crap…

I had 3 different Geovids, the 3200.com's. My current Fury 5000 AB beats the ever'lovin crap out of the Leica in the RF department. Ain't even close. Don't get me started on the "new and improved" Leica CS department. I had to get Hamilton Boykin involved or it would likely still be a cluster......

German Precision Optics Rangeguide 10x50 Binocular Rangefinder

Take a look at these I've had these now for about a year and they are light, clear, the laser is very fast. They are a little more than what you are looking for but I don't think you can go wrong with them.

I have Leica binos and rangefinder. If I were buying RF binos, it would be a Leica, but I’m sure there are others that are good, too.

An excellent unit that unfortunately not enough folks know about

I really like mine. I have the same ones Doug posted a link to. Bought them on a close out deal for the same price he has listed, but it was locally. I have no regrets. I know some guys like those Vortex Furry 5000's as well, but I've done a side by side comparison and the Leica has better glass to my eyes. The rangefinder works better as well. The one thing that I can give kudo's to Vortex is their warranty and customer service. My buddy had to send his Furry 5000's in for repair. Both eye cups broke when his kid dropped them from about a foot up. They must have hit just right, on both cups, but they basically shattered on the inside. They are not made very well at all. But, with that being said, Vortex had them repaired and back to him in a months time. This was a few months ago, and Vortex told him that it may be a wait because it was right after hunting season and they were working on quite a few scopes at that time. We were at the range yesterday, working with some of his rifles and I was spotting for him with those binoculars. When I don't have my Leica's right there beside them doing a comparison, you'd think the Vortex had some damn good glass. I actually like them, but when it came down to paying $1,200 for the Leica's or $1,200.00 for the Vortex, it was a no brainer.

The glass is great. Rangefinder works good if I can hold it still. I definitely upgraded from what I was using.
