I am going to load some of the new SubX in my 458WM. Not for hunting,,,just to punch holes in paper.
What will happen to the round if I load faster than 1100frs? maybe 1600frs ?
I am just asking for some views...I have not loaded anything yet.

It won't bounce off the paper nor will it detonate on the way. I read somewhere Hornady rates the Sub X to over 2000fps but designed to expand as low as 900fps. At 1600 fps it would be a hellofa deer buster.

Here's a couple I dug out of a clay bank when I was working down loads for my .45-70. Impact at around 1200fps

I will work up some loads keeping them near the 'slow' end of the MV scale.

You might have accuracy issues as it transitions to subsonic. How far you punching paper at?

I was going to shoot at 50 yards,,,maybe 75 but not over 100.
