Lash LaRue lived (or had some connection) for a time in Gastonia NC, about 1972 or so. I was selling cars and he came by to look at a truck or something. He told me who he was and said he would show me a pair of engraved SSA's that were given to him by Roy Rogers but I don't remember ever getting to see them. He was also a friend of our church pastor who had been in Hollywood in the '30's and performed as Philco Phill on the Philco Radio Music Hour. I wish I had been smart enough to get Lash's autograph.

I remember him and met him as a small kid when he lived in Reno for a time. He married an actress from Reno, Reno Browne. Her dad was an attorney here, and my dad knew him well.
