Good afternoon, I hope that this last Saturday in February finds each of you and your respective others well.

Somehow as YouTube is wont to do, when one listens to a couple of guitar videos it'll escort you down as many rabbit holes as one has the time or inclination to jump down.

With the understanding that I don't know this fellow from a fig and it could be he's entire wrong about all of what he's saying - if any of you - like me apparently - enjoy listening to the different tones guitars make, well you might enjoy it too.

Oh full disclosure I typically listen to music with some at least "okay" but not super great Sennheiser head phones which I think give one the full benefit.



If one was inclined to imbibe, I'd suggest this would be accompanied by a decent Merlot or a wee bit of the dark brown liquor of your personal choice. Perhaps I shall listen a second time to this with some Newfoundland Screech which certainly isn't 15 year old El Dorado, but isn't terrible either for such work - such as it is and all that.

Great video and good rundown on the most iconic electric guitars I'd say.

Rickenbacker deserves a mention as they had a lot to do with lap steels and pickups, but over all, some great guitars and playing there.

I wanted to mention something else that has been on my mind for a while that I thought you would appreciate.

I've heard for years that a great sounding Les Paul will sound like a Tele and a great Tele will sound like a Les Paul. I'd always thought that was kinda weird, but a buddy bought a 1959 LP a few years ago and it sounds way more like a Tele than you'd think!

I've had Teles that could cop a Les Paul thing and Jimmy Page playing one on Stairway is kinda proof to that I'd say.

Damn, I was expecting a good Clapton video.....

Take a listen to this guy. It may not be your genre of music, but the talent is absolutely amazing. The guy to his right is Tommy Emmanuel. He and Richard are in the top 10 guitarist in the world.

Here's my "guitar wall" in my music room here in my house (not seen are about 12-13 other instruments... Trumpet, Trombone, Tenor Sax, Clarinet, Alesis electronic drum kit, Ukulele, a military style Bugle, and misc harmonicas, recorders, and even a kazoo). Anyone want to collaborate over the internet, let me know. Whatever instrument you need, I probably have it here in my collection!

I remember when I got my first guitar at 13 a family friend was looking it over and asked if I knew any chords. I had no idea what that meant. I just wanted to be Jimmy Page. LOL
