If I just put the pad of my trigger finger on the trigger it gets pinched before the trigger breaks. I started using the finger past the first joint and that problem went away.
I don't live in a very high threat situation. A Kahr PM 9 in a pocket holster is what I carried for years. Given the more recent social decline I bought an IWB Milt Sparks holster for a Glock 23. It really is a great holster, should have just spent the money sooner.
I also started using a Smart Carry belly band for a fairly high ride appendix position with the 442. Way faster to get to when seated in the truck.
All y'all barkin' about +P loads are lookin' up the wrong tree.
Hornady makes a lead 148 gr HBWC for the .38. Load it upside down, base flush with the case mouth. 3.0 gr. of Bullseye. They are sufficiently accurate inside 20 yards or so and when they hit something it goes SPLAT-FLOP. Nasty wound they make.
The .380 equivalent of a HBWC. This is at 926 fps. Of course, it's already in slow motion. But if you slow the playback down to 25% on YouTube you can see that it opens up almost as soon as it contacts the ballistic gel.
I load them up to 1100 fps with 4.5 grains of Bullseye for my 9mm Glock 43. You can push them quite a bit faster than 1100 fps in the 9mm. But 1100 fps looks like a good place for them to be and the little Glock is very easy to hold on target at that power level.
I have a Smith 360 Scandium that is ignorant to shoot with .357 loads. Even with 38 loads it point of bad guy at best. My Model 66 snub is an absolute joy to shoot and I actually took a whitetail doe at about 18 yards with it from a ground blind.
I have laser grips on the 360, 3 of us took turns abusing our hands to get the laser adjusted to a paper plate at 21'. Sure is a nice gun to carry at times though.
"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, used up, worn out, bottle of Jim Beam in one hand and a .45 in the other, loudly proclaiming WOW-- What a Ride!"
This shot was made at 100 yards with my 642 using 158 gr. SWC handloads. Hit on the third shot. Would have hit the first two, but I was over estimating bullet drop. Aiming point was top of the bottle.
Yes I had witnesses. No it wasn't an accident. When I shot a lot, my shooting partner and I shot candle pins at 100 yards. Looser bought lunch.
Could I do this today. No. This was ten years ago and I don't shoot a lot of handgun anymore. This is still my EDC gun and I could hit a body size target with it.
I've got a 629 3" barrel 44 Rem Mag. I can shoot minute of bad guy consistently at 30 yards. My eyes are not what they used to be so I put a Red dot on it. Holy crap, I can shoot my 100 yard gong with ease. It's zeroed at 50 yards with 240 JHP's.

Ever tried 44spcl in that
Never shot 44 Special, just handloads with 200, 240 and 250 gr bullets. I just retired so I'm going to be messing around with some 200 gr loads for it. I've been shooting and loading the 44 Rem Mag for over 40 years. It's a great round.
While stationed up at the sub base in Groton, my shooting buddy and I used to train Sub School JOs and let them try and qualify for a ribbon at a private range near the base. After finishing with the class one evening, he was ragging me for carrying a (then pretty new) S&W J frame Model 640, the first ones that were marked "For +P+" at one time. He bet me a soda that I couldn't even shoot a qualifying score with one. WITH him standing there chiding me, I shot Navy Expert with one, which as you know, they only shoot double action. I shot a lot of rounds back in those days, and really concentrated on DA revolver work. It was not easy, but that soda tasted GOOD.
Great intel. If you can’t get it done in 95% of self defense scenarios with a snubbie 38, you’re not getting it done with a 18 round 9mm auto either. No, I’m not (for the mouth breathers) knocking the latter , but being objective. Practice and prepare.
I’ve had a 3” stainless Mod 60 for going on 30 years and a variety of Airweight snubs. The 3” 60 feels like a regular revolver the Airweights not so much.
As posted, 10 yard double action headshots with Airweights no problem, much better doable with careful single-action shots.
After decades of carry with an Airweight I’ve recently switched to semi-autos. Much easier to shoot repeat shots fast and well, especially at ranges longer than across the room.

Had M60 bobbed, have a 642. Shot my buds 340 w Corbons. Yeeehaw!
First was X at 21ft. Next touching, and the 3rd was an inch off the 2nd.
My finger got bonked inside the trigger guard. Plus this an indoor range......annoying!. I quit before my group went to chit.
Run my 642 fine. The ol lady said it was too heavy a trigger pull ( used gun, trying it out at range ). She asked me to show her how, so I ripped 2 fast and both in the bull.
Went back and bought it next day.....for.me LMAO.
Neat, but I carry a P365.
+P in airweight is no big deal. Mags in a scandium would take some work.
Picked up a blued all steel S&W Model 49 not long ago. Didn’t expect much in the way of accuracy but have been pleasantly surprised by how well it shoots. Currently loading Hornady 140 grain XTP’s with a close to maximum charge of Universal.
