Congratulations, I did the same three years ago. Retirement is a very good thing!

Well done - congrats. It took three attempts and some strong incentive before finally getting it done right. Remained as busy as ever but the concentration has been much more on wants rather than needs. Wishing you every happiness and enjoyment.

Two hours ago. Walked away from the factory for the last time.
Started working here seasonally around parents' dairy farm, college, and other jobs in '76.
Been full time employed at this factory since Oct 1981.
The last five months have been 5 12s Mon thru Fri, with a few Saturdays thrown in for fun. Glad to see it done. And I walked out with over one year in accrued vacation. That will be a lump sum payment on the final check.
I maxed out contributions to the 401 K, and will probably still have to slide some into an IRA this fall to keep it out of the 22% tax bracket.
But there are very much worse problems a fellow could have.
Hoo Ray for me! I threw in my job yesterday and shall be working on my house for a couple of weeks 'til I take my girls down to Tassie for a looksee, after which we will finish the house, sell it, then move down to Tassie for good. Trout in every raindrop. Deer on every horizon. No forty-nine degree Celsius temps ever again. A new chapter prior to retirement...and God knows that I have long set my sights on retirement in Tassie. Somewhere around Wynyard or Burnie would be nice, though anywhere between George Town and Smithton would suffice.
These are my opinions, feel free to disagree.

Felt the same feeling in ‘59 after 28 yrs of Johns Manville under my belt.
I still have employees come up to me in the Safeway to say hi. Must be a typo. You don't look to be 125 years old. Look Closely....... Congratulations! Enjoy life.

I'm planning on retiring this summer and leaving someone else or no one to deal with everybody's silly-ast problems. My only outstanding scumbag was sentenced yesterday and I suspect he'll leave in a bag.

Congratulations! I retired from my career in 2018. Part time job 2 days a week for the last three years. Between church stuff, my job, and family things, I’m actually busier now than when I worked full time.

They are talking of raising retirement age 2 years…guess that don’t apply to them. Been retired going on 24 years and times flies…you will realize don’t have as many years left on this side so better enjoy while health is good.
